Knitting Against AIDS

If you’re on the hunt for a new winter scarf, and you happen to be in Antwerp, Belgium this week, make sure to pop in to the Designers Against AIDS pop up store in Stadsfeestzaal on Meir in Antwerp's shopping center. Between today and December 1st, 2009, you may be able to purchase this scarf I made for the “Knitting Against AIDS” benefit. There are also hundreds of other hand knitted scarves in the store to choose from, and all proceeds will go to Sensoa and Designers Against AIDS for their HIV/AIDS programs. It’s a great opportunity to get a beautiful, hand made scarf for as little as 20€, and a chance to help raise money for a good cause. But remember, the store will only be open for one week!

Have you ever seen autumn leaves so beautiful, you wished your room was painted in exact same colors? Have you ever looked into arctic waters so blue, you wished you were an orca to swim in them forever? Having traveled a bit in my life, I have come across the most beautiful places full of colors so rich, if I could bottle them up and carry around with me every day, I would. Instead, I have reached out to several craftspeople and companies in search of wools that could be painted in all the stunning colors I have come across in my journeys. Some of my findings ended up as new hats I call VIAGGIATORE!

The VIAGGIATORE hat is made with 2-ply, hand painted, 100% wool. This hat is hand made with a looser stitch making it perfect for Autumn, light Winter, as well as Spring days! Available in two beautiful color ways
